Bicycle Helmet Fitting
Bike riding is a lot of fun, but accidents happen. Every year, thousands of kids go to the emergency department because of bike accident injuries. Some of these injuries are so serious that children die, usually from head injuries.
A head injury means a brain injury. That's why it's so important to wear a bike helmet.
In association with many local organizations the Brain Injury Association of London and Region participates in several activities promoting bicycle safety, including the Helmets on Kids Program. This program provides helmets to school age children and assists in proper fitting of these helmets and helmets provided by parents and other organizations.
We need volunteers who would like to help protect a child to assist with our helmet fitting activities throughout the year. Training is provided and there are several opportunities available at local schools and community events.
